Norwegian’s Giving Joy

Educators, much like travel, are a powerful source of inspiration and education – broadening perspectives by connecting people to each other and bringing awareness to different cultures and experiences worldwide.

For the fifth year, Norwegian Cruise Line launched its Giving Joy contest during Teacher Appreciation Week in May, which recognizes the unsung heroes who carry the significant responsibility of educating, inspiring, and shaping future generations.

Norwegian’s Giving Joy® program, which ran from May 6 through June 7, 2024, highlights these spectacular individuals, who are so often underappreciated in this profession. To celebrate the program's fifth anniversary, NCL expanded its commitment to educators with the launch of an all-new Teacher Cruise Discount.

This year, the top 20 teachers across the U.S. and Canada with the most votes won an exclusive invitation to a two-day inaugural event in Boston aboard the brand new Norwegian Aqua, the Company’s newest ship from its innovative Prima Plus Class, debuting April 2025. In addition, the top five grand prize winners are invited to attend Norwegian Aqua’s three-day christening voyage sailing from Miami on April 13, 2025.

Since 2019, the Giving Joy program has awarded 270 educators across the U.S. and Canada with the experiences of a lifetime aboard NCL ships.
