Bryan Rivera Medina is a young special education teacher under the Puerto Rico Department of Education. This educator bets daily on the conquest of new challenges, rights and a great impulse of continuity and support for the academic recovery of his students with Autism. The past hurricanes, earthquakes, and the pandemic, presented extraordinary circumstances that without the will of this educator would have been additional barriers of social, labor, and educational exclusion. However, his will has transcended barriers achieving impressive results in his students. One of its great challenges has been graduating students from the Special Education Program for independent living with all the indicators of success in their communities. This challenge constitutes one of the most important challenges within the promotion of independence, autonomy, and self-determination. As a result of all the environmental and health challenges, it develops a plan each year where, through a Multisectoral Model of Educational Response, it reaches homes to offer materials, equipment, and lessons. Likewise, by equipping your classroom with donations and fundraising activities with materials and assistive technology for a quality education.
