There are many reasons I want to nominate Dawn Sommers! 1. Dawn is an Oak Park teacher. Right there, the fact that she is dedicated and committed to our kids means she deserves to win this!! 2. She shows love and care for each and every student to help them succeed! 3. She is in constant communication with her parents as well as her staff. 4. She is the Union Vice President and Grade Area Lead for first grade. She attends extra conferences/ learning opportunities to make sure she is up to date on current ever changing practices and doing the best for her kids. 5. She works a second job managing her dog treats business but never lets it interfere with her love for teaching! In conclusion, Dawn is a great example of a teacher who goes above and beyond. She is dedicated to her students and will do whatever it takes to get the job done.
