Lorain High School
Lorain, OH
Stacey has been teaching Math and college math for over 30 years at Lorain High School, which is a inner city urban school. Ninety percent are on free lunch. During that time, she has taken numerous students under her wing and helped them monetarily, emotionally and physically with ACT fees, dorm needs, graduation fees, college and high school transcripts, and rides to and from high school and college. She basically helps students with any of their needs to help them be successful. Stacey also tutors after school and is the head of the Math Department. Stacey, also doesn’t leave them once they head off to college. She checks on them often and brings them survival baskets of supplies and food. Everything comes out of Stacey’s own pocket. Stacey was raised in Southern Ohio in the Appalachian mountains, where money was scarce. She overcame many obstacles to obtain first her bachelors degree and then her Master’s degree. So, Stacey understands the many problems that face students from poor neighborhoods. Please reward Stacey. She has worked hard for over thirty years and deserves this honor.
